Statement on AI Usage
As a writer passionate about sharing my learnings, I never publish AI-generated content. I do, however, use AI to assist with the writing process, which is documented below.
When researching topics for articles, I often use Google Gemini to get a broad overview. I fact-check all references with my own targeted web searches and reading to ensure they align with the AI-generated response. This fact-checked research is then used to structure my article outlines, guaranteeing the content I share is factually correct.
All of my articles are written by me, without AI assistance, to ensure that my own voice and style come through. My process usually starts with a rough draft where I lay out the main points. From there, I review and refine the draft, shaping it into the final article you see published.
For editing, I rely on Google Gemini for developmental edits. I never take an AI-generated suggestion as-is; I apply the suggested structural edits using my own words to retain my voice.
I also use Grammarly for grammatical and spelling edits. I only apply minor edits automatically, and then make larger edits manually. This ensures I retain my voice while still enhancing the overall flow and grammatical correctness of the content.
For cover images, I might occasionally use Google Nano Banana or Google Imagen.
Finally, I use Google Gemini to generate excerpts of my articles, which I then tweak to my liking. You'll see these excerpts on social media previews of my blog post.
Ultimately, I believe that content meant for people should be written by people. My goal is to create articles that are worth your time to read, just as I invest my own time in writing them. I hope you'll find value in reading the full articles.
